Park Esports began its first semester of collegiate competition in League of Legends in Spring 2019. This current academic year, we are competing in collegiate Overwatch, Rocket League, and League of Legends. Athletes are competing in a state-of-the-art space called the Parkade Battlegrounds and have a full-time coach with scholarship opportunities. Our student athletes are treated equally to the traditional student athletes on campus which include access to chiropractic sessions, gym hours, and playing cards of your face! Our Parkade Battlegrounds is reserved for varsity players during varsity practice times/competitions and is located underground on campus!
Our Rocket League team has made it to the Top 10 in their first competitive season in the NACE Fall Rocket League Championship and has continued to have many successes such as placing first in the KCGameOn tournament February 8, 2020, second at NexTechKC 2019 (LAN tournament inside the HyVee Arena in Kansas City), and second in the Vs Cancer Tournament 2019 online.
We are also offering many opportunities (started in January of 2019) for intramural programs. This includes tournament and free play options throughout the academic year.
