The Home Team is responsible for forming the party and inviting all other players to participate. Lobby should be created 5 minutes before the scheduled play time.
For tournaments or leagues with quick turnarounds, you will need to complete your match at the scheduled time. If your league or tournament has flex scheduling, you will be able to reschedule your match if you need to.
Check your rules for more information on how your event handles reschedule options. How to Reschedule a Match
Your event will have a specific forfeit policy which you should review in the Rules section. Generally, there is at least a 10 minute grace period so please wait prior to contacting support.
GYO is not an integrated system so you will not be playing your games directly from our site. Instead, use our site to establish communications with your opponent and then use the in-game invitation/game lobby features to get connected to start your game.
After you complete your match, the Winner of the match should return to the GYO Game Lobby in order to report your score. Do not forget to do this, as this is how we update the standings!
Instructions are here: How to Play Your Matches.
Yes, if you wish to do both then, upgrade to a premium account.
No, you will have to go into a center where staff will help you connect your ggLeap account and link it to GYO.
You can play as many hours as you want during the combine dates. As for how many hours should you play, it depends on you. Don’t overexert yourself, be sure to take breaks, hydrate, and eat. Just know that the more data we have, the better we can analyze you.
You are going to have good and bad days, we all do, but try to have at least 6 games you feel are good.
The following are the rules pertaining to the match/game formation and organization.
Best of 5
7 weeks of regular season matchups (Feb. 1st - March 14th)
1 week of playoffs (March 21st - 22nd)
Matches will have a default start time of 9:00pm EST. Matches will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
During the finals weekend teams will be put into a double elimination bracket based off of seeding to determine the winner.
Each day of play will feature a best of 5 series games played on the maps and game modes listed below.
GYO uses the CWL gameplay ruleset (listed below) for gameplay settings and map selection. This gameplay ruleset will be updated as updates are made to the competitive gameplay settings.
Each player must read through and agree to all of the rules laid out by GYO Score
Each player must be registered on gyo.gg.
Each player will be required to pay a registration fee and forfeiture fee.
The standings of the league will be measured per group using a win/loss record.
Teams will have a positioning match roughly halfway through the season to separate seeding accordingly during regular season play.
Disconnections: If a player disconnects within the first thirty (30) seconds and/or before the first kill, the game should be ended. All players must leave the match to end the game.
If a player disconnects after the first thirty seconds (30) and/or the first kill, the map must be continued and the missing player should be reinvited to the lobby. If the team with the missing player leaves the lobby, their team may forfeit the round/game in question.
Normal Boundaries: Players who move their character outside of the normal boundaries of a map may forfeit the game. Moving outside of the normal boundaries of a map includes but is not limited to part of the character’s body passing through what should be a non-permeable surface or object, and moving into any area from which your character registers shots on an opponent who is not able to register shots on your character.
After the match lobby has been created, only eligible players that are registered on the GYO Score platform on the appropriate team may be invited/join. If a player is found to have invited an ineligible player to a game, they will forfeit the game.
Teams are responsible for scheduling their matches and reporting their scores accurately on the applicable GYO League page. GYO will provide the outlined schedule and recommended time of play for the league.
If a team is scheduled to play a match and does not provide any communication about being late or attempting to reschedule, the match will be forfeited 15 minutes after the match was scheduled to start. If the team attempts to make contact or is running a few minutes late, please be patient with the team if the time is reasonable.
In the case that a member of a team cannot make the scheduled game, we are allowing teams to reschedule matches. We want to accomodate for life circumstances and not have that take away from your experience with our leagues. Rescheduled games must be completed before the following weeks match. Teams must mutually agree on the rescheduled game and the agreement must be documented via text in discord or another applicable communication application.
Restricted Items and Incorrect Settings: Use of any restricted item(s) will result in the loss of the round(s) the item(s) were used in if it affected game play. If the hosting team hosts the lobby with incorrect settings, the hosting team will forfeit each round that the incorrect setting affected gameplay. If a game is hosted out of order, the hosting team will forfeit that game that was played out of order. For example, if Search and Destroy - Azhir Cave is the second game and played as the first game, the hosting team will forfeit Search and Destroy – Azhir Cave. The correct first game/map will need to be played.
The Host is the Player who must create the lobby and ensure that the proper settings are used.
The higher seeded team at the match time must host the first game. The lower seeded team will host the second game. This will alternate until a tie break game is required.
Hosting players should create the custom lobby. As the hosting team changes over the course of the match, the new hosting player should leave the lobby and create a new one.
If a player's connection to the server becomes unreasonable during a game, the game must still be played.
If the host incorrectly ends a game, their team may forfeit the game. If a team causes the game to end whilst the opposing team has killstreaks available, they may be forfeited a round for causing the game to end prematurely.
Final Decisions: Tournament staff have the final decision in all matters related to this competition. If a player feels the decision is unjust and/or goes against the rules listed for this competition then they will be given the opportunity to present themselves. Please include any information and proof to the issue.
